K by Vicky Cheng has opened its doors in the heart of Bangkok, marking the launch of the first overseas concept by Hong Kong’s visionary Michelin-starred chef, Vicky Cheng. Nestled on the 56th floor of “EA” Rooftop at The Empire in the heart of Bangkok, this elegant dining destination blends time-honored Chinese cuisine with a creative and contemporary twist.
Vicky Cheng has gained a reputation as a pioneer of modern Asian gastronomy. Having worked at acclaimed restaurants in New York City, he returned to his native Hong Kong to open VEA, which has been awarded a Michelin star for its creative Chinese-French fusion cuisine. Now, Vicky Cheng is introducing his inimitable epicurean style to another of the world’s great culinary cities: Bangkok.
As soon as they step into K by Vicky Cheng, guests will be enveloped in an ambiance of contemporary design and rich heritage. Deep burgundy tones and striking Chinese art honor the past and embrace the present, while unique touches and traditional motifs infuse the venue with cultural significance and intrigue. Within this spectacular setting, high above the city streets, Vicky Cheng's trusted Head Chef Wilson Lam and his talented culinary team will present “The Harvest of Kilin”, a contemporary style of Chinese cuisine that is inspired by the kilin, the mythical Chinese creature with a gentle and benevolent spirit. This original concept blends warm, heartfelt cuisine with a sense of refined sophistication. Focusing on Cantonese and Chiu Chow flavors, this original concept balances texture, tastes and temperatures to craft recipes that marry rich tradition with modern innovation.
Guests will also be able to savor China’s classical tea culture with a wide range of Chinese teas and tea-inspired beverages - including handcrafted cocktails and mocktails - at an elegantly designed Chinese tea bar with sweeping city views.
