23 January 2025, Bangkok, Thailand – Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), Thailand’s leading integrated lifestyle real estate group, marked a significant milestone with the first piling ceremony for “Woeng Nakornkasem Yaowaraj”, the company’s largest landmark mixed-use project situated on a strategic 14-rai (22,400 square meters) plot in the heart of Yaowaraj, one of Bangkok’s most historic districts, as a significant cultural and commercial hub since the late 18th century. The “Woeng Nakornkasem Yaowaraj” project is located on a historic 14-rai site in the heart of Yaowaraj, with a development area of over 135,000 square meters. Chinese Pavilion: An 8-story structure will be a sacred space and a new landmark in Chinatown. Designed with distinctive features, it will invite visitors to pay their respects and seek blessings for good fortune. Additionally, the Woeng Nakornkasem Museum will showcase historical images and artifacts highlighting the community’s traditional way of life, enriching cultural learning. The project also includes leisure spaces, providing a place for relaxation in the heart of the city.
World-Class Hospitality: The first -ever two luxury hotels in Chinatown will feature over 500 rooms, including more than 300 rooms at the InterContinental Hotel, which will stand out with its 10-story main building and the carefully preserved historic commercial building, meticulously transformed into luxurious suites. As the first international hotel brands in Chinatown, guests can expect exceptional service and amenities. Notably, the InterContinental will also boast the largest ballroom in Yaowaraj, spanning over 1,100 square meters and accommodating up to 750 guests. In addition, a second IHG property with more than 200 rooms will occupy a 10-story main building and a restored commercial building along the Ong Ang Canal. The hotel will blend timeless elegance with modern comforts, delivering world-class services, including exceptional dining and bar experiences.
Iconic Heritage and Luxury Retail: A standout lifestyle destination for tourists, families and friends will span over 68,000 square meters within the main building, featuring a spacious outdoor plaza in the heart of Chinatown and showcasing the area’s preserved commercial buildings. The project will also boast one of the largest underground shopping areas in Bangkok, offering luxury brand stores, innovative concept stores, Michelin-starred restaurants, cafés, and carefully curated local shops that celebrate the rich history and prosperity of the Thai-Chinese commercial area. The contemporary design and event spaces will enhance the shopping experience, with year-round activities and festivals celebrating the cultural heritage of Chinatown. The development also offers a green environment, featuring large green spaces and a rooftop garden facade, as well as an underground parking facility with a capacity for 750 cars.
