26 December 2024, Bangkok, Thailand – Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), Thailand’s leading integrated lifestyle real estate group has entered into two hotel management agreements with Hotel Okura Co., Ltd., a world-renowned hotel chain that blends traditional Japanese elite and exclusive accommodation, cuisine and services. The partnership, marking the latest in a long-standing relationship, will result in the development of two landmark projects in Thailand: Okura Resort Chiang Mai, the first Okura-branded hotel in Northern Thailand, featuring the world’s first luxurious Ryokan experience under the Okura brand outside Japan, and The Okura Prestige Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel and Spa, a wellness-focused hotel featuring unique Japanese Sky elements, alongside the vibrant energy of one of Bangkok’s most eclectic neighborhoods in Thonglor district. Okura Resort Chiang Mai will introduce the first Okura-branded hotel in Northern Thailand, located on the vibrant Chang Klan Road – a well-known tourism hub for its bustling markets, local delicacies, and lively nightlife. It will feature over 200 meticulously designed rooms that blend traditional Japanese and Lanna modern luxury, including Ryokan-style accommodations completed with Tatami mats, Yukata robes, and private Onsens. Guests will experience the cultural fusion of Japanese and Northern Thai heritage in every aspect of their stay, from the architecture to the cuisine. Scheduled to open in Q1/2028, Okura Resort Chiang Mai will feature a signature Japanese-Lanna restaurant that combines local ingredients with Japanese culinary techniques, offering guests unique Omakase and Lanna Kaiseki dining experiences. Additionally, guests can enjoy a variety of facilities, including Onsen, Spa, all-day dining restaurant, a café, specialty restaurants, a lounge, a rooftop bar, and swimming pools.
