Bangkok: August 28, 2024 - The “Phenix” project, the World’s Food Wholesale Hub with the largest food lounge in Pratunam, managed by Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), reaffirms its commitment to becoming a leading global food and lifestyle destination. In collaboration with the Thailand Chefs Association, the World Association of Chefs Societies, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited (ThaiBev), and partners in the ‘Phenix’ project, AWC launched the “Thailand World Junior Chef Battle 2024,” the first competition globally under the concept “United World Cuisine in One Competition.” This debut event for the “Phenix” project seeks to discover the world’s best young chefs while cultivating top talent in the culinary industry. Young international chefs from 12 countries across 4 continents, and 4 teams from 4 regions of Thailand, will demonstrate their culinary skills and learn from one another’s national cuisines. This competition not only enhances cooking skills but also fosters relationships among chefs from around the world, creating a new generation of highly qualified professionals for the global culinary industry.

The “Thailand World Junior Chef Battle 2024” seeks to identify the ultimate junior chef team excelling in intense flavor creation. There are 16 competing teams from 12 countries across 4 continents, and 4 teams from 4 regions of Thailand. These countries include Australia, Greece, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Mongolia, the Maldives, South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, and Thailand. All teams will compete under the concept “United World Cuisine in One Competition,” marking the world’s first event of its kind. Each team will showcase their culinary techniques, learn from one another through the roots of national cuisines, and explore various international dishes. The competition format includes Hot Live! Cooking challenges featuring 16 national dishes, where teams will create authentic and modern Chef’s Table menus, resulting in over 2,560 plates. Real-time scoring will be conducted at every stage over the course of 4 days, or more than 32 hours of competition. An international panel of judges and esteemed committee members will evaluate the competitors. The winning team will receive the Royal Trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, along with a cash prize totaling over THB 1 million.
