Empire Tower fulfils its ultimate potential as an ‘Energy Saving Building’
Empire Tower fulfills its ultimate potential as an ‘Energy Saving Building’ after continuously managing energy conservation programs and conducting green retrofitting resulting in recently being granted ‘The MEA Energy Saving Building’ symbol.
Empire Tower, a mixed-use office building under the management of Asset World Corporation (AWC), affirms its leadership in being Thailand’s energy saving building by being awarded ‘the MEA Energy Saving Building’ symbol in the MEA Energy Saving Building competition. The competition aims to recognize and reward buildings that utilize different measures to reduce power consumption in their locations, encourage efficient and appropriate energy use in buildings, increase awareness of energy conservation for a joint success of all parties concerned through both internal and external energy conservation activities, and promote them as model energy saving buildings which will lead to other prestigious awards for energy conservation at the international level. The MEA Energy Saving Building symbol is granted to buildings whose energy conservation activities have been consistently conducted to meet energy use standards in accordance with the MEA Index, the latest developed indicator for energy consumption, which reflects the efficiency in energy use compared to the energy consumption standards in buildings of the same type. This will be used as a guideline for investing in energy or selecting appropriate technology to enhance the efficiency of energy usage. The granting of the MEA Energy Saving Building symbol is another success which demonstrates the company’s commitment to continuous energy conservation in order to promote potential growth sustainably together with the Thai society.
Empire Tower has been continuously managing energy conservation programs such as the retrofitting of the event zone on the G floor with an impressive large glass ceiling to optimize natural light and the changing of lighting systems in public areas to low power consumption LED. Moreover, the number of hours of energy usage in the central system are reduced, contributing to annual electricity consumption reduction and cost savings.
